GREAT NEWS TODAY OCT 1ST 2008

JUST HEARD TODAY FROM THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE THAT MY MUGA SCAN FOR CHECKING MY EJECTION FRACTION SHOWED A 10% INCREASE JUST FROM JULY!

IT IS NOW SHOWING AT 25% AND I FEEL IT IS CONTINUING TO GET BETTER AND BETTER. ANOTHER HOPE AND GREAT FEATURE TO COME MAYBE BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR WILL BE A "PERCUTANEOUS MITRAL VALVE REPAIR KIT" WHEREBY THEY PLACE A CLIP/SPRING ON THE MITRAL VALVE TO CAUSE IT TO CLOSE AFTER IT PUMPS OUT THE BLOOD. THAT PREVENTS THE BLOOD FROM COMING BACK INTO THE VENTRICLE CHAMBER AND ALSO ALLOWS THE HEART TO WORK LESS STRENUOUSLY. THAT IS ONLY AN OUTPATIENT PROCEDURE AND WILL BE OF GREAT BENEFIT TO THE CONTINUED IMPROVEMENT AND REJUVENATION AND INCREASING THE EJECTION FRACTION PERCENTAGE!!

SO I HAVE A LOT OF HOPE AND JOY AT THIS NEWS AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO HELP MY BODY HEAL AND MOVE IN THAT POSITIVE DIRECTION!!!

THE GIFT OF SILENCE

SILENCE:

It helps brings you to what the Buddhist say, "not mind knowing." Meaning not being in the head, not using the mind or brain to know "real" things, to acquire wisdom doesn't come from thought or how much we manipulate various concoctions we can make up, BUT, from the soul. So again, when the brain is full of noise, TV, radio, empty chatter, constant data coming in all forms and ways we actually miss the real news, the news of the soul. It has laying there all the wisdom, insight, truth, maturity, peace, answers, security that can't be exhausted! So why would anyone want so much outside noise which just leads you astray when everything you need is right there in your extremely alive eternal soul!

Here is what I wrote on my 8 days of silence about silence! This is just a taste of what I wrote and thought.

Silence is a distinctive of mine. It has been part of my philosophy of ministry especially with the dying and their families. No words can comfort. There are no words, no cliche's, no manufactured strategies, no noise, no interference, no advice, no vain TV, or talk radio, (the worse), no news, don't really need the news for the world still turns even if there is lots of news. So silence is taking a "noise fast." A news fast is very refreshing, you don't feel contaminated by bias 1/2 truths, there is no easy answer given on a Noise Fast, no pat on the back saying, "you'll be ok, just pray about it."

No, Silence is Noisy enough! There is the heart to heart, soul to soul, spirit to spirit communication, there is the body communication, there is the communication we get from nature which has millions of lessons to give.

Yes, Silence lets you hear the soul! It is a still small voice.

Silence is never boring! Can't be, for the eternal treasure (which is in earthen vessels) has enough messages, wisdom, insights, and omniscience to ever be exhausted or boring.

When you are in that silence mode, the "conscious moment" of stillness it is very very hard, if not impossible to get bored.

On 7-26-09 Sunday at 4:25pm on page 32 I wrote: Silence is fun, silence is golden, silence is wise. Silence must be a part of our lives. "Be still and know that I am God." The bible admonishes us.

Not mind knowing is the beginning of being still, being still begins the process of hearing the still small voice.

I like the notion of "not mind knowing" for I have had it help me deal and cope of dominate and controlling people. It is that I believe you can't even begin to know anything hardly and thus you don't have enough in your finite brain to know much, so I believe that "hardly anybody is right about anything, but we do have bits and pieces of truth and universal answers. Then for us humans those bits and pieces of information are constantly changing because of new discoveries and revelations.

So really it is all "impermanence." Ever changing, ever fluid, except for God. Even though God never changes, and "He changes not," as scripture says, our understanding of God as we mature is always changing. Our view of God is always changing in a bigger and better way for we get more and more insightful into His ever eternal Omniscience which we can't even begin to fully understand.

So Silence is a gift. It gives eternal wisdom and an assurance of reality that makes one very much at peace, grounded, and comfortable even when and if the world and our lives are seemingly in chaos. Hey, want to cope in life? Be quiet.

Initial beginnings of thoughts and comments from the week of silence

I am very eager to hear from Mike in the aftermath of his upcoming silent experience. Or should I say, silence from outside sources! As we can all tell from his writings, Mike has keen insight as to what he expects will happen. However, I am almost sure more will happen than he expects! This is why I am so fascinated to hear about it.

P.S. I never said, "i couldn't do that!"

Oh Mike I can not believe it has been a year already. Time is a funny thing isn't it. Sometimes quickly sometimes slowly but amazing before you know it landmark periods have slipped into place. Praise God that you have been such a success and inspiration for so may during this journey . I am so happy that it has made you so much better. Do you remember when we used to eat lunch and you would get so out of breath trying to talk and share all your wisdom ,your hope and dreams abt this stem cell treatment and eat at the same time.
It truly has been a miracle .

"whatever you think, (in your heart) you are!" So what your thoughts are "make" what you are. If they are good creative positive wholesome planned, wise, insightful, with strategies, and goals are your thoughts, then your life will reap what those thoughts create. For your thoughts affect your actions, and your actions affect what your outcomes will be. So make sure your thoughts are in line with the universal laws and principles that have been set up by God and things will work out according to God's good plan! Seems easy to me!

I think the opposite is true too. Think negative toxic thoughts and your life will have negative toxic outcomes. Read history. Again, seems pretty easy to me.

Create your positive thoughts and watch your outcomes and your life will be very full even if you are not rich in the world things, but extremely rich in happiness, fulfillment, contentment, and supper peace and hope. Seems easy to me.

Hi Mike Wow Mike, I am overwhelmed by your rambling thoughts and writing. I'm sitting here at work and the tears are just streaming down my face. I know I have a lot of rambling thoughts, but they are never like that. I spoke to Maria on Mother's Day and she told me about some of the experiences you both had 'over there.' I'm sure you are eager to get home and know that this part is behind you. The updating on the blogspot is wonderful. Did you do all that in the midst of your treatment?? So take care of yourself and stay out of trouble with all those man less females over there. You probably wish you could just wiggle your nose and pop yourself back home. But before you know it you'll be back in the good old US of A. He has been with you all along, now is your hour to be healed and His time to give you that gift and however He chooses to do so will be perfect as it is from Him.

I remember you saying sometime along the way that you know what you do down here on earth - what your job is. And you are not sure what your job would be there. But do you also remember that there is a going from here.......and a coming.......to the other side. I always figured based on other people's opinion about this, but I do think whatever we have done here, will be the class time, study time and training for what we will do there. Imagine getting to be the "gracious host" for the Son of the Living God - meeting people on the other side, will allow you to be a Chaplain there also - meeting and greeting those who need to be introduced to someone they have waited their whole lives to meet. Our Lord and Savior.

I am not telling you this to make you unsure of this procedure or that I think it might not go well. That's not the case. It sure is soothing to think that that would be your job.

You have work to do - and so your job is to finish it until you are done. But one thing you might want to consider and I have been thinking about a few minutes ago is actually spending some time in the future teaching chaplains the job and responsibility of dealing with the dying and how to do that thing you do ---- we both know Dr's are not good at it - they sure need others in this life to know how you do what you do to make people so comforted during the dying process.

St. Lucie County St. Lucie chaplain gets heart help with adult stem cells

FORT PIERCE — The Rev. Mike Rumble is a walking miracle, of sorts.
Faith sustains him, but sheer determination propelled him into trying a cutting-edge technique to repair his failing heart: a transplant of adult stem cells from his own blood to his heart muscle last spring.
As time ticks on, instead of worsening, his heart is pumping blood more efficiently.
Fifteen years ago, the health care chaplain for St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie and Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, a progressive type of heart failure in which the heart muscle weakens, rendering it less capable of pumping blood.
Eighteen months ago his doctor told him he had reached end stage heart failure, also known as Stage 4. He already had outlived predictions by more than 10 years. The news didn't sit well with Rumble, a Boynton Beach resident who spent most of his working life in hospitals counseling patients who are dying, and wants to continue his work.
He took a leave of absence from working in the hospitals in August.
He recalled hearing about adult stem-cell transplants to repair diseased hearts. The procedure is still in research in the United States, but was already being done in hospitals overseas.
After a scary trip to the emergency room, where he learned his heart rate was irregular and out of control, he had a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted. And he decided the stem-cell transplant would give him the best chance of surviving.
Friends helped raise $35,000, so he flew to a hospital in Thailand and on May 5 they injected concentrated stem cells from his own blood into the left ventricle of his heart. He kept friends and family up to date with his blog at mikerumble.blogspot.com.
Stem cells, sometimes called master cells, are able to grow into the many types of cells the body produces. Adult stem cells usually grow into specific types of cells. In Rumble's case, the adult cells were taken from his blood and implanted to grow new heart muscle and blood vessels to replace diseased ones.
Today, he's improving by leaps and bounds.
"I haven't moved back to Stage 3 yet," he said, "but I'm working on it."
On Jan. 9, he'll have a spring/clip placed on a heart valve flap that won't close properly, reducing a leak and gaining him at least another 10 percent improvement in heart function.
"Just in these few months I've had great improvement," he said. "I look better now and I have better coloring."
If necessary, he can return to Thailand for a second round of adult stem-cell injections.

Afternoon Delights

Here I am in a Starbucks having a decafe coffee and a coffee cake, good and fatting and having it with good nutritional supplements pills all over my table while looking into a new supplement stem enhancer which stimulates the new stem cells that we all have naturally in our bodies.

In those seconds of time experience a myriad of sensations all at once. Like many mini explosions of life times flying at the speed of light through your mind, heart, soul, and body. Energy, spirit, earthiness, depth, that has an effect of transforming one into an eternal transforming creature that we are and have a surreal experience of flying across the universe in seconds and back in one’s spot on earth at the same time! Again, who needs drugs when we have our imagination. If I can imagine it then it can be done.

Having that encounter is private, personal, individual, yet must be experience with another close trusted someone very close, someone who gets it, the someone is Maria Santa! We could experience the utter joy and fulfillment of living in community, oneness, unity, and completeness.

Afternoon rain lets up, and I move on from the i-pod -nanno sounds of pure delight and go forth making this dream a reality with intention, direction, goal, and focus. Outcome? Breath, width, depth, growth, development, evolvement, which has a great impact in ones ministry, care, and nursing our hurting world. Outcome? Simple; a better person makes a better world. Isn’t that our goal………………….?

Two day delay in return to US.. On 17th of May

Still in the hospital today the 8th of May will return to my hotel on the 9th Friday. Will be delayed two days because of air or a gas build up between the heart and the lung and skin tissue. This can expand when in flight at 38,000 ft and cause a real problem, so they must let this naturally go down and then it is safer to fly. The aviation doctor says this is a normal response and often happens to others. Everything else is very good and normal. Making good progress and walked around in the hospital today with Maria and that helped my oxygen saturation levels as well. Little by little making good progress. Thanks for all your wonderful notes via email and this blogspot. It is so encouraging feeling surrounded by such love, support, and prayer. There is a great confident feeling inside me. STILL TRUE TODAY THE 7TH OF MAY. Thank you for your joining me here in spirit. I am having a surreal time with sights, sounds, music from my ipod, (some great Chopin), smells, people, food, hope, spirit, energy, a dancing on the clouds as it were, an in and out of the body experience almost. The spirit is swelling with hope, yet with a grounded settled-ness and firmness. Anticipation and mystery with no fear! There is lots of love and care, and a sense of being cradled in spirit which are some of the experiences! You just got to hear my moment here so far. Chaplain goes beyond borders in search of cardiomyopathy treatment

The Rev. Michael Rumble comforts Louise Hudson, 65, who is suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, at the St. Lucie Medical Center. Rumble has cardiomyopathy, and is seeking an alternative treatment, involving stem cells, not available in the U.S.

Rumble makes his living as director of spiritual care at both hospitals in St. Lucie County. Part of his work is ministering to dying patients and their families, a role that he describes as "midwifing souls to a new life."

But his own heart is failing. It is swollen in his chest because a condition known as cardiomyopathy has robbed much of its ability to pump out blood.

"The average life expectancy of someone with cardiomyopathy is five years and I've lasted 15 years," Rumble said.

He plans to journey to Bangkok, Thailand, in a few weeks to get a procedure that has not received Food and Drug Administration approval in the U.S. It will involve harvesting a type of stem cell from Rumble's blood that is believed to induce the growth of new heart blood vessels and tissue. The cells will be multiplied in a culture, then injected into the part of his heart that needs repair.

The company marketing the treatment, TheraVitae Ltd., states that about 75 percent of patients gain "substantial improvements" in their quality of life.

Rumble's cardiologist, Dr. Prasad Chalasani of Port St. Lucie, told Rumble he should get on a waiting list for a heart transplant. But Rumble said he doesn't want somebody else's heart beating in his chest.

Rumble traces his heart disease to 1989, when he was diagnosed with leukemia while living in Kentucky. His brother Marc volunteered to donate bone marrow for a transplant that was a perfect match. But Rumble said that a strong chemotherapy drug given as part of leukemia treatments weakened his heart.

This became apparent in 1995, when he was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition in which the weakened heart muscle can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs.

Heart output is measured by ejection fraction -- the percentage of blood volume a heart can pump when its muscle contracts. Rumble said his ejection fraction is 17 percent; Chalasani said a normal heart pumps 60 percent.

"This guy is amazing," said Chalasani, who is not affiliated with TheraVitae. "With his heart-pumping ability, it's amazing that he is still working. Most of the people with this condition would be on disability."

Chalasani said every person's body contains stem cells that mature into specific types of tissue. These include angiogenic cell precursors, which induce the growth of blood vessels and heart muscle. These are the cells that will be harvested from Rumble's blood, multiplied, and injected into his heart through a small chest incision.

The goal of the treatment, Chalasani said, would be to duplicate the body's own healing "on a very magnified scale and in a place where it would not otherwise have happened."

Such stem cell therapy is being researched in U.S. laboratories. But Jerry Steele, TheraVitae's patient relations manager, estimated it will be five years before it gains FDA approval.

Steele said his company's treatments cost about $35,000 and can offer hope to patients who can't wait.

"A lot of our patients aren't eligible for a heart transplant," Steele said. "They're either too old or their heart muscle is too weak. They have no other options.

"We can't make (the heart) normal again," Steele said. "But we do improve it."

BENEFIT FOR HEART TREATMENT

The Rev. Michael Rumble suffers from a condition that has left his heart operating at a fraction of normal efficiency. He plans to travel to a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, April 28 for a treatment not readily available in the U.S. Rumble and his friends hope to raise money for the treatment by inviting the public to a "Rumble-thon Family Fun Day."

When: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday April 5th

Place: Frederick Douglass Beach Park, 3500 S. State Road A1A, Fort Pierce

Donations, food: Donations collected per plate. Food includes barbecue pork, chicken, hot dogs, potato salad and other picnic dishes.

i meant mike about 3 to 4 years ago. we were at a bedside of a person transitioning back into the natural state of spirit. as a respiratory therapist, in the critical care unit, this rebirth was one of many for me. this one was the beginning of a great friendship with mike rumble. for those readers that has never spent years in a critical care unit, i would like to say that our creator gives many gifts to his children. i, like many others, has grown to love the gifts given to me. back to my friend mike, he to has great gifts that he uses. that first day mike walked into that hospital room it was very apparant to me that i was going to be a witness to a light and love fill event that i call the rebirth of the spirit back to its natural state. over the next several years, mike and i have worked together countless times witnessing the rebirth. yes, these times can be very sad and painful to family and friends of the deceased. however; with mike,s gifts of compassion, love, wisdom, and humility and the way he uses them to help ease and heal the sorrows of loss has proven to me that mike has a place on earth and a very important job to do. one of mike statements to me is " i know what i am suppose to do here but, i don't know what my job would be there." well, i have decided to help mike raise the money for his life giving trip. in the last several weeks i have put together a team to help.
